- Asian Handicap
- A handicap system that eliminates the draw outcome by giving a fractional or whole goal advantage or disadvantage to each team.
- ATS (Against the Spread)
- A bet on whether a team will cover the point spread set by the bookmaker, regardless of the match outcome.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money you have set aside for betting; managing your bankroll helps you avoid overspending.
- Bonus
- Extra funds or free bets offered by the sportsbook, often as a reward for signing up or making a deposit.
- Both Teams to Score
- A wager that both squads will score at least one goal during the match, with options for "yes" or "no".
- Cash Out
- A feature that lets you settle a bet before the match ends, either locking in a profit or minimizing a loss based on the current score.
- Double Chance
- A bet that covers two of the three possible outcomes in a match (win/draw, draw/lose, or win/lose) to increase your chances of winning.
- Edge
- The perceived advantage you have over the bookmaker’s odds, often based on analysis or information that the sportsbook may have overlooked.
- Futures
- A bet placed on an outcome that will be decided later in the tournament, such as which team will win the World Cup.
- Hook
- An extra half-point added to the spread or total, often used to avoid a push and create a clear winning side.
- In-Play Betting
- Placing a bet on a match after it has started, with odds that update in real time as the game progresses.
- Juice
- The commission that the sportsbook takes on a bet, typically built into the odds; also called "vig".
- Moneyline
- A bet on which team will win the match, with odds expressed as a positive or negative number indicating the favorite and underdog.
- Odds
- The number that tells you how much you can win relative to your bet; higher odds mean a bigger payout but a lower chance of winning.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals scored in a match will be higher (over) or lower (under) a set number.
- Parlay
- A single bet that links multiple selections; all must win for the parlay to pay out, offering higher odds than separate bets.
- Prop Bet
- A wager on a specific event within a match, such as which player will score first or how many yellow cards will be shown.
- Push
- When a bet lands exactly on the line, resulting in the stake being returned with no win or loss.
- Rollover
- The total amount you must wager (usually the bonus plus the deposit) before a promotion’s funds become withdrawable.
- Spread
- A point handicap set by the bookmaker to make the favorite and underdog equally attractive, requiring the favorite to win by a certain margin.
- Stake
- The amount of money you risk on a bet; the stake is multiplied by the odds to determine your potential payout.
- Unit
- A standard measurement of bet size, often a fixed percentage of your bankroll, used to keep wagers consistent and control risk.
- Vig
- The cut or fee that a bookmaker charges for taking a bet, reflected in the odds as a small markup.
- Wagering Requirement
- The number of times you must bet a bonus amount before you can withdraw any winnings derived from that bonus.
